Insect and tick bite prevention

NaTHNac has published a reminder on insect and tick bite prevention. Travellers are reminded that they may be at risk of mosquito spread infections, eg chikungunya, dengue and malaria, or bites from ticks and sandflies. The link provides information on which diseases can be prevented by vaccination and which rely on bite prevention.

Type 2 diabetes guidelines

In February 2022, NICE reviewed the evidence on drug treatment and made new recommendations in the type 2 diabetes clinical guidelines for adults aged 18 years and over. The updated guideline includes new recommendations on: first-line drug treatment; reviewing drug treatments; treatment options if further interventions are needed. It also includes a visual summary on first-line drug treatment for an overview of the recommendations and additional information to support medicines choice.

Registrations are now open for the popular Primary Care Nursing Live show 2022, which will be streamed online from 14 March to 18 March. The event will be streamed online from 14 March to 17 March.
