RCN and NaTHNaC 7th Joint Travel Health Conference

Now that overseas travel has resumed post-pandemic, the RCN and NaTHNaC explore the latest research and future trends in travel health nursing, in an online event on 23 March. The RCN encourages any nurses working in travel health services to join. Talks covered include information on vaccinations like Dengue and Qdenga, updates on the eradication of polio and staying healthy on a cruise ship.

By the end of the CPD accredited conference, attendees will have:

  • Discovered the latest research to enable best practice.
  • Be up to date with information on the latest travel-related vaccines.
  • Be ready for new challenges and resources in travel health.

Tackling health inequalities: the need for urgent action

This two-day event from the King's Fund aims to highlight England's ‘deep crisis’ of health inequality. The online event, which takes place 8-9 May, aims to explore the challenges in reducing these health inequalities and how health and care services need to rethink the system to achieve this.

The event will:

  • Explore strategies to reduce health inequalities.
  • Discuss the need for urgent action and policy change ahead of the next general election.
  • Showcase both international and domestic case studies.
  • Explore how the health and care system is working in partnership with local authorities.

Long COVID Nurse Group Meeting: Women's Health

The QNI is holding an online meeting on the effects long COVID can have on women's health. The meeting is part of their Long COVID Nurse Group, informing the Long COVID agenda from the point of view of community nurses. This particular forum aims to address strategies for self-management during waiting periods for secondary care.

Key topics include essential inquiries to make with the general practitioner regarding periods, fibroids, endometriosis and the menopause. The meeting will be held via Zoom on 21 March at 10am.
