Sharps safety guidance

The Royal College of Nursing has published a document on sharps safety in health and social care settings focusing on the prevention and management of sharps injuries.

Malaria guidance update

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has published its annual guidance on malaria prevention. Developed by the Advisory Committee on Malaria Prevention, this includes further revision of the insect bite avoidance section, emphasising the increasing importance of these measures. It is key that health professionals advising on travel stay up to date with changes to this document.

Measles guidance

UKHSA has published an information flyer titled ‘Measles: don't let your child catch it’. The flyer addresses common questions about measles and the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine that protects against the disease and is designed to display in schools, GP surgeries and walk-in centres. Copies can be ordered for free.

Immunisation webinars for primary care

Recordings of immunisation training webinars developed by UKHSA London are available for immunisers to support access to online update training, covering a variety of topics including incomplete immunisation schedules, polio booster campaign and adverse events.

Prevention and management of diabetic foot

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence has published updated guidance on preventing and managing foot problems in children, young people and adults with diabetes.
