The Self Care Forum have created a factsheet to help people practice self-care. The factsheet called ‘The POWER of Self Care’ aims to give people the power to take control of their lives. POWER stands for personal wellbeing, out and about exercise, weight awareness, eating and diet and risks and prevention. It gives advice on how to begin exercising, how to look after your mental health and provides guidance on weight management and healthy eating.

RCN members, reps and staff have worked in collaboration to produce resources to help nursing professionals cope with and manage their stress. The resources cover how to spot the signs and symptoms of stress as well as providing strategies and support for those that are experiencing it. There are also guides available for those in managerial roles and rep roles.

New National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidance covering advocacy for people using health and social care services in all adult settings (including young people under 18 using adult services) has been published. It describes how to commission and deliver effective advocacy, as well as identifying who should be offered advocacy (including who is legally entitled to it). It also covers monitoring and improving advocacy services, and training and skills for advocates and practitioners.
