Infection prevention and control guidelines

The Royal College of Nursing commissioned an independent review to identify and compare international definitions and guidance used to describe standard and transmission-based infection prevention control precautions and reflect on the implications of those for contemporary nursing practice. The report sums up this evidence.

Black voices on contraception choice and access to services

Ten new videos launch this month as part of the Black Voices on Contraception Choice project from the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare, highlighting the views and experiences of Black people when accessing sexual and reproductive health services.

Safe prescribing and withdrawal management guidelines

The National Institute of Health and Care Excellence (NICE) has published new guidance coving general principles for prescribing and managing withdrawal from opioids, benzodiazepines, gabapentinoids, Z drugs and antidepressants in primary and secondary care. It does not cover gabapentinoids prescribed for epilepsy, nor opioids prescribed for acute or cancer pain, or at the end of life, nor management of illicit drug dependence.
