The Nursing and Midwifery Council, in collaboration with the General Medical Council, have updated their guidance on duty of candour. The refreshed version of the guidance includes updates about reporting systems, terminology, and the support available to health professionals. However, it hasn't created any new or additional requirements for health professionals.

Booking is now open for RCN Congress 2022. Taking place in Glasgow 5-9 June, the event is free for RCN members. Agenda items include protecting the title ‘nurse’, ethical overseas recruitment, digital consultations and assisted dying.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence has updated its guidance on hypertension in adults, with a new recommendation on blood pressure targets for people who have both hypertension and cardiovascular disease and reassessed evidence on antihypertensive drug treatment in this group.
