NMC launches new support service for nurses

The NMC has launched a 12-month Careline pilot for nurses, midwives and nursing associates who are involved in fitness to practise processes. The free and confidential support service is operated by an independent provider. Emotional and practical support is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year via either Freephone, LiveChat or Email. The service allows professionals to contact specially trained counsellors, anonymously if preferred. NMC staff will remain the point of contact for all case-specific enquiries, but the Careline offers advice on general concerns, as well as signposting to other health or wellbeing services that can help with their individual needs. www.nmc.org.uk/concerns-nurses-midwives/information-under-investigation/ftpcareline/

All Our Health

Public Health England's All Our Health framework is a call to action to all health and care professionals to embed prevention within their day-to-day practice. The All Our Health e-learning sessions are free to access and have been developed to provide a bite-sized introduction to the topics covered within the All Our Health framework. The sessions include signposting to trusted sources of helpful evidence, guidance and support. Nurses can dip in and out of the content.

Currently, there are seven All Our Health e-learning sessions available covering the following topics: Adult obesity, antimicrobial resistance, best start in life, cardiovascular disease, homelessness, physical activity and social prescribing. www.e-lfh.org.uk/programmes/all-our-health/
